Vajrayogini,
the diamond, or adamantine practitioner, is depicted as sixteen years
old, passionate and, radiantly beautiful. Her three eyes indicate her
ability to see the past, present & future all at once. Her flaying
knife symbolizes the wisdom that cuts through ignorance, and her
skull-cup filled with blood is the blissful clear-light consciousness
unified with this wisdom. The khatvanga, or staff she carries represents
her secret consort, Chakrasamvara, who is inseparable from her. Her
body is naked, showing her freedom from ordinary conceptions &
appearances. Her garland of 50 dry human skulls symbolizes purity of
speech. Male tantric aspirants are exhorted to regard all women as
manifestations of Vajrayogini, and to honour them appropriately. Original Paintings & Museum-Quality Giclee Prints on Canvas Available |
