Jetsun Tara's ruby-red form alludes to the discriminating awareness, and loving compassion of the padma, or lotus family of Amitabha. The full moon behind her signifies skillful means. Seated upon a stainless red lotus and a sun disk of pristine awareness, she holds in her hand, the stem of a red utpala, or lotus flower, on which rests a  fully-drawn bow and arrow of lotus-blossoms; her right hand offers a vase of immortality.
